Can't Buy Me Love?

Up to this point, my online dating experience has been limited to one free site. Originally, I decided it would be "safe" to try a free site to see if the world of Internet cruising was even for me.

And while I had heard that a lot of the men on the pay sites also used this free site, I gotta say, this free online dating stuff is like dumpster diving. Perhaps it's just what you get for using a site that doesn't cost you a dime, but hey I thought love don't cost a thang. Heyohhhhh!

Anyway, I recently took my profile off the free site because I've heard from enough weirdos and bumpkins to last into my next lifetime. And then I took a look at the goods on a paid site and was extremely impressed.

It's like going from Toys "R" Us to FAO Schwartz. Recycled paper to a Five Star notebook. Store-brand mac n' cheese to Velveeta! Well, that's my first impression at least. We don't know much more at this point. Although I do have two friends who have found very nice guys on the paid site. So there's that.

I've decided to give it a whirl. I'll be signing up for the shortest available subscription, 3 months. And $20 a month isn't a bad price.

Apparently sometimes love do cost a thang.
