Aboot Last Night

So I met Tim Hortons for sushi, and guess what we talked about? TIM HORTON'S!!! And the whole time I was thinking about how awesome it was going to be to come tell all of you about that because he clearly wouldn't appreciate the irony as much as my blog pals would.

Anyhoo, the young Canadian was very tall, had semi-wavy hair (not like Michael Bolton), and very cute style. He wore this button-down with a faded gray blazer that made my heart flutter. And he had great shoes, which always wins points. Do you know how many guys have terrible shoes?! You don't even have to Google this one, just look at the man sitting next to you. Nine out of ten times he'll have hopeless shoes. But this isn't a fashion blog.

So he won in presentation, and he was really funny. Sitting down to dinner was a little awkward because we were both nervous, and I kept talking with my hands and looking everywhere but at him. So my head's rolling around and I'm jabbering on, and he was probably checking for signs that I was having a seizure. Finally I calmed down and we had a great convo and some delicious sushi.

At one point I even said I was unsure about trying a roll that had tiny black fish eggs on top, so he took the piece of salmon that they were sitting on and put it on top of them and winked. Awwww.

After dinner we went for a beer at this bar down the street from the restaurant, and just chatted about this and that. But, the piece de resistance was the good bye. He flagged me a cab, and we're standing outside this cab on the driver's side, and the driver's got his window down so now it's a threesome, and Tim Hortons basically blew a fuse in his brain and pushed me toward the cab and said, "I'll call you," and awkwardly walked away.

We chatted briefly yesterday and I agreed to hang out next week.

In the meantime, I got an email from a cute guy who just graduated med school (seriously, did my mother break into my dating account and install a doctors-only filter?) and plays soccer recreationally. Don't even get me started on soccer players. Love. Them.
